Our first Quarrel
Lately Mrs. Collins has been angry with me, for silly reasons of course. She disagrees that we should have no association with the Bennet family any longer, for she does not want to lose her best friend. How very selfish it is to put a little life long friendship over the appearance of the Collins household! What would people like Lady Catherine think knowing I allowed the presence of such an acquaintance? I'm sorry Charlotte, but this will never do, I know you'll come around in a couple days, your love for me is too strong.

Not to put my nose where it does not belong, but do you hear yourself? Not only has Mrs. Collins been a dear friend of Lizzies for years now, she has always been closely aquatinted with my entire family. It is in fact selfish of you, to advise her to treat us any other way than friendly.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mrs. Collins in every way. She has been my dear friend for years and I'm not going to lose her because of you. She has every right to be angry with the sitation you presented. You don't just stop being friends with someone because they did something embrassing, but I guess you wouldn't understand that concept since you have no friends.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with Char. She deserves to stay in contact with Lizzy. They have grown up together. Reputation is not everything Mr. Collins.
