Rumor Has It...
Lately there has been a rumor going around that Elizabeth refused the hand of Mr. Darcy. While I am not surprised by this, seeing as she denied even me, I still find it hard to believe. Dacy is like my best friend, we tell each other everything. If Darcy had been planning to propose he would have definitely confided in me first, and I probably would have been the great friend I am and talked him out of it, like he did for Bingley!

The rumor is true that I have refused Darcy's proposal. Do you men not understand the meaning of a marriage? First you ask me to marry you when I think it is quiet obvious that neither of us love each other and then Darcy? Has he not been their the whole time we have despised each other and then to come out and say he loves me. Your brains must work in the opposite ways of women because degrading a womens family and social status isn't the way to her heart.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Elizabeth. Even though mine and Janes marriage didn't go through, doesn't mean that everyone should talk each other out of trying to work something out. Your "bff" obviously has feelings for Elizabeth, though Elizabeth was too proud to except his hand.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to understand his proposal in the first place. How a man of his stature would tolerate being refused by a poor country girl is somewhat humorous to me. I think only a fool would propose in such a way as he did. I am actually quite proud of my daughter for having the merit to stand up against him.
